Open House Week!

Hello again from the farm! The week of the open house is upon us already! and we’ve got a schedule of events to put out for you, here’s what we’ve put together:

Saturday, August 14th,

9:00 – 3:00 Self-Guided Farm Tours

9:30 – 10:00 Kids’ Seed-Sowing

10:00 – 10:30 & 11:00 – 11:30 Pesto Demonstrations with Edna McCallion

10:00 – 12:00 Book Signing with Local Nutritionist & Author, Jodi Friedlander

10:00 – 1:00 Stacia & Robert’s Local Honey

10:00 – 1:00 Cheese Tasting with Soledad Goats

10:00 – 2:00 Oil and Vinegar Tastings

11:30 – 1:30 Food Samplings ~$5 Suggested Donation

2:00 – 2:30 Guided Farm Tour with Laurie Thorpe

We look forward to seeing you there, and a big thank you to all of you who responded with questions and suggestions! As far as what’s on at the farm;

Tomatoes are finally deciding to start trickling on! The vines are full of heirloom beauties, just waiting to ripen. What we’ve got ripe now are the delicious Sun Gold cherry tomatoes, and a few Sapho (which are similar in size and shape to a campari tomato – also delicious).

Raspberries should be on in another week.

Cocozelle Squash is just starting to come on, along with a few Patty Pan and Sebring. The Soleil, Raven, Anton, and Dundoo are all still going strong!

The Falcon and Victoria Eggplant are really starting to produce, and there are even some of the beautiful Rosa Bianca.

Finally, this is the last week for lavender. Don’t forget to carve out some time to commune with the bees and cut your own – as much as you can get your hands around for only $3.

Tangleweed Farm New Hours- Wed, Fri, & Sat 9:00-4:00

Ollalieberries are on finally!

Laurie’s produce available this week: Washed and bagged Spinach,Lettuce, Arugula, and Swiss chard. Beets, radishes, summer squash, and cucumbers.Some basil as well. Lavender and sunflowers!

Summer is here and weekly more is coming on.

John is at the farmers market Thurs.

Its April and although we are alittle behind with our seasonal crops due to weather, we are looking forward to the season that is fast approaching…SPRING! In Tehachapi, that means unpredictable, but one thing is for sure,it will come and we are looking forward to it. An update for this coming week: Sat APRIL 10th and Wed April 14thThe Farm will be Closed.So sorry for any inconvience.We are making some changes that we are excited about and will keep you posted. Until April 17th we wish you well and look forward to seeing you this spring .Laurie and John

We still continue to bring in Cal Organic and have been so pleased by your response.Thank You for continuing to support the farm.We will be opening as well on Wednesday,although depending on business Sat.,assortment may be limited.Grassfed beef still available as well as goat cheese,Organic coffee and our usual other.Some of produce available.
